Abstract

The intensifying global climate crisis and depletion of conventional energy resources have prompted urgent transitions toward sustainable and renewable energy systems. Solar and wind energy, in particular, have emerged as pivotal solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, achieving energy security, and supporting low-carbon development goals. This research investigates the technical, economic, and environmental feasibility of integrating solar and wind energy into modern engineering systems, with a focus on enhancing reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.The methodology involved a multi-layered analytical framework combining empirical simulations, cost-benefit evaluations, and performance modeling of hybrid renewable systems. Quantitative data were collected on solar and wind output, battery storage performance, levelized cost of energy, and greenhouse gas reduction potential. Smart grid performance and project-level financial indicators were also assessed using real-time datasets and optimization algorithms.The results reveal that hybrid solar-wind systems provide improved load balancing and exhibit the lowest average levelized cost of energy. Battery storage, especially lithium-ion configurations, enhances system efficiency by mitigating generation intermittency. Smart grid integration significantly reduces load imbalances, while project evaluations indicate attractive returns on investment and favorable payback periods. Furthermore, renewable deployment is shown to substantially reduce emissions, supporting broader decarbonization goals.In conclusion, this study confirms the viability of renewable energy integration from both technical and financial perspectives. The findings underscore the importance of diversified system configurations, advanced storage solutions, and intelligent grid design. With appropriate policy support and infrastructure investment, large-scale adoption of solar and wind energy can lead to a resilient, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable energy future.
